A: National classifieds specifically for therapeutic massage and bodywork professions. It is community moderated and largely free.
Q: What can I find there?
A: Gently used products relevant to their scope of practice – tables, hot stones, and chairs, really anything professional body workers use.
Q: How do I find an item?
A: Use the site’s search engine- type in what you’re looking for within the range you’re willing to travel.
Q: How long is my selling item posted on www.lightlytouched.com?
A: 60 days. After that time, it will be removed.
Q: What if I sell an item before the 60-day post time?
A: Simply delete the listing by going into the ‘manage my listing’ link.
Q: How do buyers contact me?
A: Through the site in the “read messages” link, which appears after you’ve logged in to your account. Should you wish to have buyers contact you in another manner, you are welcome to post that information in the item description.
Q: What about fraud and scams?
A: Our best advice is to use good common sense and educate yourself by going to your favorite search engine to avoid being taken advantage of. Some solid rules of thumb include:
· If it’s too good to be true it’s most likely too good to be true. Trust your gut instinct.
· DEAL LOCALLY and directly with an individual you can meet in person at a public location.
· NEVER give personal financial information (account numbers, social security number, Paypal information, …)
· Be cautious of cashiers checks and money orders. Fakes are common and banks will hold you responsible once a fake has been discovered weeks after the transaction.
Q: How can I recognize a scam?
A: Most scams involve one or more of the following:
· inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
· Western Union, Money Gram, cashier's check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a "guarantee"
· inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before completing transaction
Q: Why was www.lightlytouched.com started?
A: We saw a need. As a massage therapist, I was frustrated that I’d have to buy new knowing someone out there had what I needed.
